Selection

Follow these steps to determine the right edge trim and sealing profile:

  • Function : flange protection, top seal, side seal
  • Bending radius
  • Clamping range
  • Operating temperature and chemical resistance for rubber edge sealing and edge protection profiles

Bending radius

The bending radius differs for rubber edge trim and sealing profiles and depends on the profile dimensions. Please check before selecting.

Clamping range (sheet thickness)

There are similar rubber edge trim and sealing profiles available with different clamping ranges to accomodate the thickness of the edge, flange or lip the edge profile is mounted on.

Operating temperature and chemical resistance

  • EPDM is used for temperatures between -40 and + 120°C when chemical and weather resistance is vital.
  • PVC and Nitrile are used for oil resistance
  • Silicone is used for temperatures between -40 and + 180°C, it offers excellent weather resistance.
